Dr
Fenn with his wife Brenda formed their own company in 1991 called
FlowTech Design Limited. The company specialises in the computer
simulation of the injection moulding process and is founded on Clive's
engineering materials knowledge and experience gained in the plastics
processing industry since graduating from UMIST with a BSc in Polymer
Science & Technology (Physics) in 1973 and a PhD in 1976.
Clive
Fenn, as a professional engineer, has been an active committee member
of the Manchester Polymer Group of the Institute of Materials, Minerals
and Mining in various capacities since 1976. He is currently Vice
Chairman of the group and has special responsibility for PR and
for many years has been a major contributor in the organisation
and success of the Young Person's Lecture sponsored annually by
the section. Between 1993 and 2000, Clive was the North West Regional
Representative of the Institute of Materials and acted as the link
between members and industry in the North West and headquarters
in London.
In
a wider engineering role, Clive is a Neighbourhood Engineer. Outside
of the professional area, since 1992, Clive has been a Governor
at a Primary School serving terms as Vice Chairman and Chair of
Governors, recently broadening his experience in this area he has
become a Governor at a Church of England Secondary School.
In
1995, Dr Fenn, became a voluntary helper with a local Scout Group,
assisting in the first instance with the Cub Pack and latterly as
a warranted Assistant Scout Leader. Similarly,
Clive
became actively involved in a Bolton cricket club in 1993, assisting
with coaching and practice sessions and subsequently, took up the
reigns of Junior Team Manager.
