The
Manchester Polymer Group
The
Manchester Polymer Group is a regional division of the Plastics Rubber
Board, part of the Institute
of Materials, Minerals & Mining. The committee comprises both
industrial and academic technologists from a wide variety of disciplines
within the field of plastics and rubber technology. The group promotes
plastics and rubber technology to both members and non-members at all
levels through the following activities;
- Annual
evening lecture program and industrial visits concerning new developments
and interests for our industry.
- National
Lecture
Competition, open to both academic and industrial participants.
- Young
Persons lecture attended by schools covering the north west region of
England.
- Support
of
both Manchester Materials Science Centre and Manchester Metropolitan
University with text books.
- Support
of students at Manchester Materials Science Centre
and Manchester Metropolitan University with membership fees to the IOM3.
- Support
of students with Poster Competition at Manchester
Metropolitan University.
- Sponsorship
of teachers for the Polymer Study Tour, which promotes rubber and plastics
technology in schools.
